(April 3, 2023) \u2013 Neel-Schaffer Senior Project Manager Becky Rogers, PE, PTP, RSP1, was recently elected to serve a three-year term on the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) International Board of Direction.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers will represent the Southern District of ITE as part of the 16-member board, which is responsible for setting policies for the operation of ITE. Founded in 1930, ITE is a 17,000-member organization spanning 78 countries. Her term commences in 2024 and concludes in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers expressed her excitement about this new leadership position, stating, \u201cServing as an International Director will allow me to be involved at the highest level of ITE, where the transportation profession continues to adapt to current trends. It is a huge honor to be elected, and I am looking forward to serving in this new role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Craig Hanchey, Executive Vice President for Neel-Schaffer\u2019s East Region, is a long-time ITE member who has observed Becky\u2019s rise up the ITE leadership ladder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a tremendous honor for Becky and for Neel-Schaffer,\u201d said Hanchey. \u201cShe has accomplished much through the hard work and dedication she has exhibited when working with Neel-Schaffer clients and with her previous ITE roles. Her professionalism and knowledge and attitude have made her a leader, and that was evident when her peers elected her to serve in this prestigious position. She will be an outstanding representative for the Southern District on the International Board of Direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rogers&#8217; involvement with ITE began in 1997 when she joined the Auburn University Student Chapter. She held the position of Alabama Section ITE President in 2013 and has served in various leadership roles within the Southern District ITE since 2014, including District President in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers joined Neel-Schaffer in 2006 and has 23 years of experience. Based in the firm\u2019s Birmingham office, she works on a diverse range of transportation planning and engineering projects including transit and multimodal planning and safety studies. She also possesses extensive experience in large-scale data collection.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Community Planning from Auburn University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JACKSON, Miss.
