{"id":6568,"date":"2022-06-20T14:04:47","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T19:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/localhost:10018\/?p=6568"},"modified":"2024-03-21T10:27:16","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T15:27:16","slug":"neel-schaffer-holds-open-house-to-celebrate-move-to-new-jackson-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.neel-schaffer.com\/2022\/06\/20\/neel-schaffer-holds-open-house-to-celebrate-move-to-new-jackson-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Neel-Schaffer holds Open House to celebrate move to new Jackson office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>JACKSON, Miss.<\/strong> (June 20, 2022) \u00ad\u2013 Neel-Schaffer, Inc., welcomed about 150 visitors during an Open House celebration on Thursday, June 16, to showcase the firm\u2019s move to the Highland Bluff North building in northeast Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>Ranked as the 197<sup>th<\/sup> best engineering design firm in the nation by <em>Engineering News-Record<\/em>, Neel-Schaffer was founded in Jackson in 1983 by Hibbett Neel and Gorman Schaffer and remains committed to serving the Jackson community.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6569 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.neel-schaffer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Neel-Schaffer-Open-House-6.16.2022-scaled-e1655751702563.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"648\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate Neel-Schaffer\u2019s move, Neel spoke to a crowd of city officials, clients, and employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would first like to thank all of the people from the City of Jackson and the Greater Jackson Chamber for being here today,\u201d said Neel, who now serves as the firm\u2019s Chairman of the Board after serving for 39 years as the President and CEO. \u201cWe are an employee-owned firm, with 38 offices in nine states, with nearly 500 employees, but we are based right here in Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext year will be our 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary. We\u2019ve moved four times. \u2026 We spent two years making this move happen. This is a wonderful building and we are so excited about moving here to this location. We are a Jackson-based firm and our whole purpose is to give back to the community. We love being here and love this facility and are so glad we could move here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the ribbon cutting, Neel-Schaffer employees were joined by City of Jackson officials, including Chief Administrative Officer Louis Wright, Chief Financial Officer Fidelis Malembeka, and Safiya Omari, Chief of Staff to Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba. Also in attendance was Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership Executive Director Jeff Rent and a host of GJCP Ambassadors.<\/p>\n<p>After noting Neel-Schaffer\u2019s \u201clong-standing and good relationship\u201d with the city, Wright presented Neel with a plaque \u201cin recognition of your commitment to economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rent reminded those in attendance that Neel-Schaffer was the named \u201cBusiness of the Year\u201d in 2020 by the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership. \u201cWe commend you for your commitment to our community and your staff and your growth,\u201d said Rent. \u201cYou provide quality services and there\u2019s a reason why you are the first engineering firm that always comes to mind.
