(January 20, 2021) \u2013 Neel-Schaffer was recently selected by the Tennessee Department of Transportation as the lead design firm for the Alternative Delivery team tasked to build a new interchange on Interstate 65 in Spring Hill, TN.<\/p>\n<p>The lead contractor, Bell &amp; Associates Construction, LLC, of Brentwood, TN, had the low bid of $54.3 million. This will be the first time Neel-Schaffer has partnered with Bell on a project of this magnitude.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZGOnQrKdVVU\" width=\"100%\" height=\"560\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><em>(video courtesy of the Tennessee Department of Transportation)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The project, located about 30 miles south of Nashville, will include a new diverging diamond interchange at I-65 and Buckner Road, and new road alignments that connect the new interchange to the existing facilities at Buckner Road and Lewisburg Pike. Other amenities will include sidewalks, a shared-use path, guardrails, bridges, signals, control access fencing, retaining walls and interchange lighting.<\/p>\n<p>Neel-Schaffer\u2019s key staff include Michael Agnew, Design Manager and Engineer of Record; Henry Pate, Structures Design Lead; Steve Lamm, Roadway Design Lead; and Luke Sullivan, Design Quality Manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to partner with Bell on this important project for TDOT, the City of Spring Hill, and Tennessee motorists,\u201d said Richard Sullivan, PE, Assoc. DBIA, Vice President for Neel-Schaffer\u2019s Tennessee operations.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s exciting to be a part of this large, innovative delivery project that will provide much needed congestion relief to the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Design is expected to begin in January 2021, with construction set to begin late 2021.
