(May 9, 2019) \u2013 Neel-Schaffer, Inc., is pleased to announce that Matt Lifsey, PE, DBIA, has been named Carolinas Operations Managers and will oversee the firm\u2019s operations and business development efforts in South Carolina and North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>A Vice President with the firm, Lifsey has served as South Carolina Operations Manager since joining Neel-Schaffer in 2016. He has nearly 30 years of project engineering and management experience, including 24 with the South Carolina Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Lifsey will help Neel-Schaffer expand operations into North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we look to grow the company\u2019s footprint in the Southeast it makes perfect sense to focus on North Carolina as the next step,\u201d said Chris Sellers, a Senior Vice President with Neel-Schaffer. \u201cMatt\u2019s success in growing our South Carolina operation, his relationships with our consulting partners in North and South Carolina, and, just as importantly, his excellent leadership qualities, make him the perfect match to lead Neel-Schaffer into North Carolina.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since joining the firm, Lifsey has led a period of tremendous growth for Neel-Schaffer\u2019s South Carolina operation. The firm is currently providing a variety of services for the SCDOT, including bridge and roadway design, among other unique engineering services. Additionally, Neel-Schaffer is part of the consulting team chosen by the SCDOT to perform construction management services for the upcoming $1.4 billion Carolina Crossroads project.<\/p>\n<p>Lifsey helped develop the SCDOT\u2019s Design-Build division in 2014. He leads Neel-Schaffer\u2019s Design-Build Advisory Group, holds certification from the Design-Build Institute of America, and he has a unique understanding of best practices in every phase of Alternative Delivery methods, which includes perspectives from the owner as well as the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>A registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, Lifsey holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neel-schaffer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/050919-Matt-Lifsey.pdf\">Printer Friendly Version<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBIA, S.C.
