Terry Brown\u2019s wife and two sons in attendance. Columbus Mayor Robert Smith said the amphitheater will be one more amenity in a growing list for the City, and that Sen. Brown loved Columbus and Lowndes County and how the City is honored to name the amphitheater after him.<\/p>\n<p>State Representative Jeff Smith, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, also spoke, along with Nancy Carpenter, Director of the Columbus-Lowndes Convention and Visitor\u2019s Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>The am\u00adphitheater will be built on approximately three acres and is part of an overall plan to improve and expand The Riverwalk along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.<\/p>\n<p>The amphitheater will be a revenue enhancer, tourist attraction, and quality of life asset for the City of Columbus. It will serve as host to numerous public and private events, enhancing the quality of entertainment that Columbus can offer.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin:
